Loch Coruisk

Images of the loch coruisk and the black culling Isle of Skye by Phillip Dove Landscape photography

Loch Coruisk can be reached by boat from Elgol, or on foot from Sligachan. There is a footpath from Elgol but "the Bad Step" is a challenge. the Black Cullins are to the Northern end of the Loch.
Walter Scott described it in 1814
“Rarely human eye has known
A scene so stern as that dread lake,
With its dark ledge of barren stone...”
Considering the rest of the week we had blue skies with small white fluffy clouds, the few hours that we were at the loch gave the most sombre skies.
